When to Dry
Even if your window coverings are made of washable fabric, the lenses and bars may be reduced to washing. Play it safe and choose dry cleaning if in doubt. Certainly clean curtains and drapes with interlocking spaces, swags, or other over-the-top decor that is not resistant to washing.
You can refresh velvet draperies without washing or drying them; just brush them occasionally with a chamois cloth soaked in hot water and drain thoroughly. If silk curtains need a hand wash, do so with warm or cool water and use a detergent. Swish gently and never turn or turn.
Frequent exposure to the sun can weaken strong fabrics. So when washing machine curtains and towels, use a mild cycle, cool or lukewarm water, and a little soap. If possible, hang it on a clothesline to dry, or place it on a dry clothes rack in a warm or sensitive area.
Sheer curtains
Wash curtains that are always clean or do not look dirty, because when dirt appears it can turn out permanently. Gently clean these delicate fabrics. Make sure they do not fill more than half of the machine, then allow them to soak for five minutes in cold water.
Use a small cleanser, and if desired, a whitening agent. Turn on the dial to clean the drainage, then run the machine in a gentle wash setting for only 2 to 3 minutes.
Rehang while you are a little wet, then pull the shape. If necessary, move the ironing board near the window and iron hems while the curtains or curtains hang. Or use a hand-held steamer or a straight vertical steamer set of normal metal to smooth it out.
After deep cleaning, remember to drain the curtains and dust regularly with the attachment of your soft brush or with a soft, long-lasting broom with synthetic fibers (much better than natural fibers in dust collection).
- Measure the curtains before washing in case you need to straighten them back into shape. Be sure to remove the hooks and any tools, and then release the tapes to lie on the floor.
- Before performing the curtain cleaning, quietly apply them with a drying set in a non-heating cycle. Or move them, place them on the bed, and dust with a brush attachment.
- Do not overload the washing machine, and keep in mind that the curtains will be heavier when wet.
- When washing your hands, do not rub or scratch the cloth; just shake it off nicely.
- Try drying the curtains over two identical lines so that the wet areas do not touch. Do not let the curtains continue with the wood, which may contaminate them.
- The metal while wet with a straight length on the non-reflective side. When the fabric parts are already dry, loosen the entire curtain again to avoid watermarks.
- Stretch the beams slightly while ironing to avoid packing, then spread the curtains over a clean area, such as a bed, and pull them to the right size.
- When the curtains are dry, add hooks and weights, and pull the tape to adjust the width.
- You may be able to save a step by hanging your curtains, and then use a hand-held steamer or a vertical metal grip to smooth it out.
- Before replacing the curtains, clean valances are directed to the wall. Clean up elevated value with upholstery attachment and wood valance with crevice tool; clean the plastic valance with a sponge soaked in a water-soluble solution.
- Renovation is much easier when one person is standing on the stairs to install the hooks and the other is at the bottom to make sure the curtains do not drag on the floor.
